Takers, Movie Trailer & Review

The tale of Takers revolves around a notorious group of criminals who continue to baffle police by pulling off perfectly executed bank robberies. They are in and out like clockwork, leaving no evidence behind and laying low in between heists. But when they attempt to pull off one last job with more money at stake than ever before, the crew may find their plans interrupted by a hardened detective (Matt Dillon) who is hell-bent on solving the case.
The movie Takers does not look to terrible. But nothing much original… Well, Paul Walker is in it, so I will give a try to Takers, but I’m not convinced yet by this movie

Drama is set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island.
This Shutter Island movie looks damned fantastic and I’m not surprised: with Leonardo DiCaprio in the cast it couldn’t be otherwise!

A young embassy employee (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) hooks up with an American spy (John Travolta) in Paris. The spy is insane but damn effective!
At first sight the plot of From Paris With Like may not stand out from the crowd for its originality, even if the plot takes place in Paris, France. Still, I believe that Besson and Morel will deliver a fantastic action movie.

Elsa and Clive (Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley), two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a perilous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to make a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a gorgeous but perilous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.

Hard to believe that this small monstrous thing could develop in anything gorgeous later on. But I can really imagine it becoming some perilous predator. I am no Luddite, and I do want scientists to be allowed to pursue R&D in genetic engineering (from stem cells to splicing or whatever may help to increase our knowledge). But on can’t deny that there is need for regulation: don’t want perilous chimera to feed on you or don’t want any new vicious GM virus to infect you, do you? It’s even more compelling to implement a strong regulation and to get ethical awareness in the population because tabletop genetic engineering is for tomorrow

It’s the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson’s Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they’re not pleased: Zeus’ lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy’s mother.
