Hachiko A Dog Story, Movie Trailer & Review

A college professor (Richard Gere) takes in an abandoned dog, Hachi, and they form an unbreakable bond. After the professor dies while away from home, the dog keeps vigil waiting for his master for nearly a decade.

The story of Hachiko is well known in Japan: the dog even has his own statue in front of the Shibuya train station! So Richard Gere’s Hashiko is much awaited over there.

If you’re wondering about the dog race, er, I mean the dog breed, it’s an akita.
